Created attachment 359784 [details]
example

problem:

i think that evince gtk headerbar contains to much item compared to other gnome core apps (average 3 to 4), the problem is there is just small room left for the title to display especialy when evince tiled in half of the screen (14 char is too short) even in the standard 1366x768 res this is still not enough

suggestion:

morph some item into a floating element (next back arrow, page number, anotation) an good example this is what eog do a long time ago (41 char display even tiled to half of screen)

benefit:

-cleaner ui
-adaptable
-convinience
-reduce screen discrimination

extra:

-attacment included
