GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 786331
Dialog to confirm screen resolution change does not fit to translation (pt-br)
Last modified: 2018-03-16 22:58:10 UTC
Created attachment 357646 [details] screenshot I'm testing Gnome 3.26 beta, see my screenshot please.
This string is from "gnome-shell.master.pt_BR.po": #: js/ui/windowManager.js:84 msgid "Do you want to keep these display settings?" msgstr "Você deseja manter essas configurações de exibição?" Can you please test with English language as well?
Created attachment 357649 [details] screenshot with default font settings Sorry, I remembered I dont use default font settings. I tested with another user account, it's ok.
Created attachment 358460 [details] screenshot of ubuntu 17.10 Same happens on Ubuntu 17.10 with default font settings.
Which version of gnome-shell is provided in Ubuntu 17.10 ?
(In reply to Rafael Fontenelle from comment #4) > Which version of gnome-shell is provided in Ubuntu 17.10 ? I dont know which version is available in ubuntu repositories. I use 3.25.91 installed via PPA.
Created attachment 362838 [details] wi-fi password dialog same issue affects wi-fi password dialog on Arch, Gnome 3.26.2.
Gnome 3.28 is affected.
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/commit/c4d2c0ee64f12b169e6eb25784a5f244c5ff5dac I changed the translation for this string to workaround this issue of not fitting. So, instead of: msgid "Do you want to keep these display settings?" msgstr "Você deseja manter essas configurações de exibição?" now you'll should get: msgid "Do you want to keep these display settings?" msgstr "Deseja manter essas configurações da tela?" It will be available in 3.28.1, but you could test it right now by downloading the .po file from the Git repository and running (as root): # msgfmt -o /usr/share/locale/pt_BR/LC_MESSAGES/gnome-shell.mo /path/to/pt_BR.po (/usr/ might be /usr/local/, depending on the distro) I'm marking as resolved, but feel free to open it again.
