Description Todd 2017-07-30 05:07:41 UTC
"notify-send" (part of libnotify) stopped working after upgrading from Fedora 25 to 26. This is not reproducable on fresh Fedora 26 installations. This issues was reported to Fedora over on:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1471560

There are a lot of details given over on the above link.

Is there anything yo guys can do to help troubleshoot and/or fix this? Not having notify-send operating kill a lot of stuff.

Many thanks,
-T

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=247 implies that's an update from libnotify-0.7.7-1.fc25 to libnotify-0.7.7-2.fc26.
And https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=846337 shows that the diff is just a rebuild.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all
older bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen
updates for a while.

If you still use libnotify and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and currently supported version, then please feel free to report it at
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libnotify/-/issues/
by following the guidelines at
https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented
so far (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
