Description c.buhtz 2017-07-22 22:10:55 UTC
The README file is empty.

I would suggest to add infos about

- the project website and the overall project (Gnome)
- link to upstream source (the git-repo on gnome)
- link to a docu about how to contribute, bug report or communicate (via mailinglist, irc, whatever) with upstream

That's stuff that should rather go into the DOAP file I'd say but I agree this is also missing in the DOAP file.
Comment 2 c.buhtz 2017-07-23 20:55:55 UTC
I understand your point. But (without beiing sure) the "DOAP file" is an unusal Gnome specific thing, isn't it?

I was coming from Debian Tracker page. I found a problem with libnotify and looking into the source of the package to found out who/where upstream is. Of course I look into README, CONTRIBUTE, ... files for that.

I want to prevent redundance. So I would suggest to but a simple hint into the README that all information could be found in the DOAP file. What do you think?
Comment 3 André Klapper 2017-07-28 16:12:37 UTC
Not really. I expect people to check what files are in the top level.
An empty README file should be removed though.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all
older bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen
updates for a while.

If you still use libnotify and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and currently supported version, then please feel free to report it at
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libnotify/-/issues/
by following the guidelines at
https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented
so far (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
