Description Carlos Garnacho 2017-07-21 10:05:10 UTC
I had a wip branch around that started unification of grabs (and grab alike behavior) throughout mutter/gnome-shell. However, that branch will most definitely not be in time for 3.26.

In the mean time, I think doing a lesser unification of wayland grabs pays off, because it fixes bugs for tablets and touchscreens, (eg. no popups, and dnd is important for the former) and because it'll make all of src/wayland a single case to port when I get back to that branch.

I will attach patches doing so here.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
