Zip archive that is not properly shown/extracted by file-roller

When I tried to drag the file named "estudo_stilingue\O_Espiritismo_de_Chico_Xavier_aos_olhos_da_Intelig├кncia_Artificial_(pesquisa).pdf" from the attached estudo_stilingue.zip to my home directory, the result was a directory named "estudo_stilingue" and a file "O_Espiritismo_de_Chico_Xavier_aos_olhos_da_Intelig├кncia_Artificial_(pesquisa).pdf" inside it.

In fact, maybe the correct behaviour would be to show the directory "estudo_stilingue" and the pdf inside it in file-roller itself.

I'm using Ubuntu Gnome 17.04 and file-roller 3.22.3

Here's the original link for the zip archive http://misa.si/2ueKDqT

It works for me.

Although I am not using Ubuntu Gnome 17.04, maybe it's something downstream that's causing the problem.

You mean you see a directory called "estudo_stilingue" and a pdf in it? Because while it seems to be a single file in file-roller, what is extracted is a directory and a pdf.

It's confusing... at first, I thought the file wasn't extracted at all

I'm seeing just a PDF after I extract. Did the people who created it expect to have a directory that contains the PDF that is compressed in the zip?

* PDF with the full name. \ included.

I have just opened it on a WinZip pro. It shows a pdf file inside a directory. The title of this bug is misleading now. The "\" is not part of the name.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use file-roller and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/file-roller/-/issues/

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
