Description Allan Day 2017-07-17 08:42:54 UTC
I'd like to request a new mailing list with the address code-of-conduct@gnome.org.

This list is to be used for reporting incidents that contravene the code of conduct at GNOME events. If possible, it shouldn't be archived.

The initial list of people to be subscribed should be:

 * aday@gnome.org (moderator)
 * ebassi@gnome.org
 * zana@gnome.org
 * benjamin@sipsolutions.net
 * ssssam@gmail.com

Am I understanding it correctly that you'd like me to setup a mail alias that has no archives at all and NOT a mailman mailing list?

Hmm, good question. We'd originally imagined a mailing list without archives, but an email alias would serve a similar function indeed.

The main difference I see is that we could manage a mailing list ourselves, whereas we'd need to ask you whenever we wanted to change who is subscribed if it was an alias.

To explain in a bit more detail: sensitive emails could be sent to this address. At the same time, the subscribers are anticipated to change over time (for example, we'll be adding GUADEC organisers each year and removing them after the event). That's why we don't want the list to be archived - so temporary subscribers don't get access to sensitive information from previous years.

Mailing list has been created (subscribers added, no list archives, new subscriptions require approval from the list moderator) and list password e-mailed to you.
