GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 784999
Don't show time dividers in "X more events" popover widget
Last modified: 2017-11-15 21:31:38 UTC
Created attachment 355715 [details] screenshot The attached screenshot is pretty self explanatory... no point in having the times shown twice (as a divider, and inside events names).
Since some of the events needs to show the time, since it's different than the divider one, what about showing the delta respect the divider time and the event? Something like the following 07:00 ---------------- Event A (07:12) Event B 07:00 -------------- Event A (+12) Event B
As a human you normally can't attend more than one event starting at exactly the same exact time/minute (and if it's the case somehow, they should just be shown side by side instead of one below another). I still think the time dividers are superfluous because if you're going to show time deltas instead of full timestamps then you're not gaining horizontal space and you're still wasting the vertical space.
In my opinion, calendars are not meant only for events you can actually attend. I personally use it also to just take notes of events of interest to me (e.g. sport matches, things I have to check later, and so on), but, again, it's just personal use. However, you are right, my suggestion does not actually save any space, it's just to avoid redundancy. I agree we can remove the dividers and just show the events, but let's wait for a maintainer to express his opinion.
Starting from 3.27.2, we don't use a popover anymore. Instead, we show a floating month cell. Closing as FIXED.
