GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 784651
gnome-shell always defaults to "en" layout even if other layout is configured
Last modified: 2017-07-07 14:36:01 UTC
Hi, After installing a fresh debian stretch while in the installer the French keyboard layout was selected the layout of the user created by the installed is set to en (and fr+latin9) as a 2nd layout. I'm not exactly sure from where the "en" layout is coming from. It's interesting to note that GDM is not affected and that the layout is fr+latin9 as expected. user@debian:~$ localectl System Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 VC Keymap: n/a X11 Layout: fr X11 Model: pc105 X11 Variant: latin9 user@debian:~$ cat /etc/default/keyboard # KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION FILE # Consult the keyboard(5) manual page. XKBMODEL="pc105" XKBLAYOUT="fr" XKBVARIANT="latin9" XKBOPTIONS="" BACKSPACE="guess" "dconf dump" shows me: [org/gnome/desktop/input-sources] sources=[('xkb', 'fr+latin9'), ('xkb', 'us')] xkb-options=@as [] https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=859268
