Description Till Kamppeter 2017-07-05 18:22:06 UTC
In the "Printer Details" dialog there is a button named "Search for Drivers". Clicking this button only gives the button the look of being pressed down but nothing happens afterwards. What is it supposed to do?

Assuming it does something like for example searching printer drivers on the OpenPrinting web site, it should then tell some how (by a pop-up, by text in the "Printer Details" dialog, ...) that drivers are searched for. Also there should be for example a spinner telling that something is happening. When the search ends, the button's look should be returned into unpressed mode and the result should be somehow presented, also if no driver was found or if an error has happened.

It is supposed to start searching for drivers.

I see a spinner.

Do you have cups-pk-helper installed? How about system-config-printer (the service, not the app)? I bet we have an error handling bug here.

I have checked again and this is solved now (Ubuntu Bionic).
