GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 78375
Missing menu options on sawfish desktop when logged into Japanese locale
Last modified: 2009-08-16 15:13:28 UTC
On the desktop:- 1. Clicking on the center mouse button gives a blank list of options. 2. Clicking on the right mouse button gives no options. right clicking on the top left hand corner of an application e.g. gnome-terminal gives a list of blank options.

sounds like your menus are hosed worksforme and everyone else as far as i know..
Have tested on nightly build 21st April on Solaris 9 Sparc. Locale - Japanese. Also using package SUNWgdtf to log into Gnome session from dtlogin screen. 1. Clicking on the center mouse button gives a blank list of options. 2. Clicking on the right mouse button gives a list of options, so something has been fixed here. 3. right clicking on the top left hand corner of an application e.g. gnome-terminal gives a list of blank options.
This may be related to bug #78375. Without the patch in this bug, some strings in the middle-click button and in sawfish preferences weren't properly displayed (they were truncated before the first non-ASCII character, I suppose in Japanese you only have non-ASCII characters, hence the empty menus)
Hmm, I obviously meant bug #78710 :)
On Solaris 8, CVS build 29th April, logged in in Japanese locale, I have no right click or middle click menu's on the desktop backdrop.
Did you try with the patch in bug #78710 ?
Cristophe: if you feel that these are probably symptoms of the same low-level bug, I'm going to mark these as duplicates and clarify that other bug. Please reopen/comment if you find that unreasonable. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 78710 ***
