Description Bastián Díaz 2017-05-28 04:55:11 UTC
Due to the operation of gnome-shell it can be useful in a station with two or more monitors that the overview is displayed on all monitors, however, there are many cases that a "second monitor that works independently" is needed for cases like Presentations, video playback, etc.

I think other environments in linux or other systems work this way. Perhaps adding an additional configuration for a secondary monitor might be a solution, however, the description of the primary monitor is clear when mentioning that the main functions will be shown there.

cheers.

I'd say this should be a consideration for the envisioned presentation mode. Regarding the overview, it would be fairly trivial to display windows on the presentation device as normal, however they would not truly "work independently" as the overview grabs all input ...

The presentation mode seems something very big and not very suitable for what is required. I've seen use other non-full screen applications (or that might include the new API) being used on a secondary monitor and the overview is annoying because it distracts also includes other items such as when the monitor darkens when a password is required or the wi-fi network is changed, etc.
