GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 782901
add abbreviation for teaspoon/tablespoon like in Liter (l) or Gram (g)
Last modified: 2018-09-02 20:41:23 UTC
German user here: Amount like kilogram, gram, liter, mililiter all have abbreviations (kg), (g) (l), (ml) in brackets after the name. Teaspoon (=Teelöffel in German, abbr. (TL)) and Tablespoon(=Esslöffel in German, abbr. (EL)) do not have those abbreviations. They should be added. When I add e.g. "2 Teelöffel Eier" it shows exactly like I added it. But as soon as I save it, it changes to "2 tsp Eier". It uses the English abbreviation tsp and not the German TL. It should be like with e.g. Gram. I choose "2 Gram (g) Eier" and as soon as I press "Add" it says "2 g Eier" and it doesn't change after saving.
We do have translatable strings for these, but the German translation currently treats the abbreviations the same as the long names: #: src/gr-unit.c:53 msgctxt "unit abbreviation" msgid "tsp" msgstr "Teelöffel" #: src/gr-unit.c:53 msgctxt "unit name" msgid "teaspoon" msgstr "Teelöffel" Moving this bug over to the translations.
If it isn't clear, this is an issue with the translations of gnome-recipes.
