GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 782758
evince freeze when removing a annotation
Last modified: 2018-01-04 19:26:45 UTC
When I remove some annotations the evince freeze and I have that close it. By terminal, I receive this message: [user@mylocal ~]$ evince (evince:23692): EvinceDocument-CRITICAL **: ev_annotation_markup_set_label: assertion 'label != NULL' failed (evince:23692): EvinceDocument-CRITICAL **: ev_annotation_markup_set_label: assertion 'label != NULL' failed (evince:23692): EvinceDocument-CRITICAL **: ev_annotation_markup_set_label: assertion 'label != NULL' failed dead [user@mylocal ~]$
I'm suffering from the same problem. This appears when removing text annotations. So you mark a part and then you try to remove it, this causes in evince freezing up and not responding to anything. Using Evince 3.24.0 on Ubuntu 17.04.
Can you confirm that this bug did not happen with Evince 3.22? If yes, is it possible that you are running into https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=785975 ?

But I did not use the "delete notes" feature in the 3.22.
I think this crash only happens after the *second* annotation is removed. Saving the file after an annotation has been removed and restarting evince apparently works around the problem (for me).

Maybe a duplicate of Bug 785786
I cannot reproduce this, so probably a dupe + fixed.
(In reply to Nelson Benitez from comment #7) > I cannot reproduce this, so probably a dupe + fixed. Yeah! In 3.26.0 version the bug does not happen.
