GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 782620
New version has three redundant places to clear data
Last modified: 2018-08-03 21:08:15 UTC
With 3.24 there are now three places to clear personal data instead of one to clear personal data as before - clear history in the menu, manage cookies and manage personal data in the preferences. This is redundant and not user friendly. These locations should be combined into one - e.g Clear Data in the menu - as was the case before.
Just wanted to file a bug similar to this, I also noticed that to clear all data: - cookies - cache - history you need to do it with three actions on two different locations. I would love to have one unified interface where you can select and clear all data together. Even possibly leaving everything as is, and providing just another "section" + button on preferences page which will remove all "temporary" data.

And there is no way at all to clear saved overview snapshots, or the favicon cache, so we need to expose UI to somehow cover those things as well. Ideally all in the same place. I'm not sure how this could work. Perhaps we ought to bring back the old clear data dialog to where it used to be, and move the new clear data dialog somewhere else.
