Description Ole Aamot 2017-04-27 14:15:22 UTC
Could you add the product 'gnome-internet-radio-locator' in Bugzilla?

I've added the module gnome-internet-radio-locator in git and on ftp.

This is the second release of GNOME Internet Radio Locator with support
for GTK+ 3.0, GNOME Maps via libchamplain and gstreamer via gst-player.

Thanks in advance.

Happy hacking,
Ole Aamot

The same project has ownership on the girl BZ product [1], what's need for
another product targeting the same GNOME project?

Bugzilla products are not handled by "sysadmin" but under "Bugzilla" product

Ole: See bug 740164. Why is this requested yet again?
Comment 4 Ole Aamot 2017-05-03 09:57:39 UTC
gnome-internet-radio-locator is a new and separate module targeting GTK+ 3.0, GNOME Maps and gstreamer. See https://git.gnome.org/browse/girl/tree/GNOME3

I maintain both the old and the new module.

The new executable is gnome-internet-radio-locator and the source code tree is at

   https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-internet-radio-locator/

The gnome-internet-radio-locator module is distributed from

   https://download.gnome.org/sources/gnome-internet-radio-locator/

We need the new Bugzilla product for the new module gnome-internet-radio-locator.

Thanks in advance!

Happy hacking,
Ole

Okay, so it is "new". What is the difference to "old"? Why was "new" needed and "old" could not be improved? Is "old" maintained and being worked on? Why if there is "new"? And finally, how would anyone else ever understand that when trying to file a bug report?
Comment 6 Ole Aamot 2017-05-03 12:09:04 UTC
Yes.

The executable gnome-internet-radio-locator is the new release of GNOME Internet Radio Locator.

The difference to the old executable is that gnome-internet-radio-locator now
links against GTK+ 3.0, GNOME Maps and gstreamer, which was the original plan
of GNOME3 port as documented in https://git.gnome.org/browse/girl/tree/GNOME3

"new" was needed because the original release, originally written in 2002, developed between 2014 and 2017 and links against GTK+ 2.0 and libgnomeui,
and could not be ported without writing the new code for gnome-internet-radio-locator that is free of the legacy GTK+ 2.0 and libgnomeui code.

"old" is maintained in the original repository, while "new" is gnome-internet-radio-locator.

The product gnome-internet-radio-locator in the bug filing system is written in the file gnome-internet-radio-locator.doap. See https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-internet-radio-locator/tree/gnome-internet-radio-locator.doap

I am going to do the best I can with the new product gnome-internet-radio-locator.

Enjoy Internet radio,
Ole
