Thanks for a bug report, The provider itself (a structure describing the service used for sending) can define that the sent folder should be avoided, but user itself has no influence on it. I added a new option and made the "Sent Messages folder" option in Defaults tab of mail account Properties being a checkbox, indicating whether the sent folder should be used or not.
