GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 781581
No thumbnails for Canon CR2 photo RAW files
Last modified: 2017-04-22 19:54:46 UTC
I'm using ufraw-thumbnailer in Arch linux, but after upgrading from 3.22 to 3.24 and some investigation I don't see any thumbnails of my Canon's CR2 files. And if I downgrade gnome-desktop to 3.22 then thumbnails are shown again. It is happend after https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-desktop/commit/?id=b69fde6f4a709f8c4fa3087941cee5b4c4169a8d
Yes, as expected. See how it was solved for librsvg in bug 778666.
Do I need to notify the developers of ufraw instead GNOME?
Yes, it's up to the developers shipping additional gdk-pixbuf loaders to ship the new .thumbnailer file.
>Yes, it's up to the developers shipping additional gdk-pixbuf loaders to ship the new .thumbnailer file. Now I'm trying to >gdk-pixbuf-thumbnailer input.cr2 output and gdk-pixbuf also working with extracting thumbnails from CR2 files You can download CR2 samples and try to use gdk-pixbuf-thumbnailer http://www.kleptography.com/dl/5diii/raw/ Maybe instead of using external ufraw.thumbnailer I need to use gdk-pixbuf?
I deleted ufraw.thumbnailer and add MimeType=image/x-canon-cr2;.... to gdk-pixbuf-thumbnailer Works great with *.cr2 files. Can this add-on be included in the upstream? I checked on different files from three different cameras. I think problems should not be.
ufraw needs to ship a ".thumbnailer" file which calls gdk-pibuxf-thumbnailer. See the similar commit for librsvg.
