Description Krasnaya Ploshchad’ 2017-04-16 16:24:24 UTC
Since September 2016, OpenType specification released with new font variation introduced. But GIMP does not any changes mentioned for that, so I suggest GIMP should give support for such technology when insert a text into image, at least support font weight (also allow numbered font weight), font style (italic/oblique, width (such as condensed), etc.) to make variable fonts works as expected when necessary.
Comment 1 Krasnaya Ploshchad’ 2017-04-16 16:32:59 UTC
Size based variation should also get support as above.
Comment 3 Jehan 2017-04-20 16:22:49 UTC
We indeed don't have any OpenType support. We happily welcome patches! :-)
