Description Christian Hergert 2017-04-12 22:17:42 UTC
Mastodon seems to be taking off the last week or two within the Linux community, and it might be interesting to join the herd. (See mastodon.social). It's built on GNUsocial federation API and is Free Software.

Should we choose to move forward with this, I can donate gnome.social to the Foundation. I assume this would be limited to Foundation members, at least for now.

Having @user@gnome.social is also some nice free advertising for GNOME.

Since the servers, like email, can have access to user data in cleartext, a certain level of trust is necessary.

I would be interested in doing this. Looking for approval. :-)
