help-irc: fix wording (861 bytes, patch)

Description Don Pellegrino 2017-04-09 15:13:27 UTC
The "GNOME Help," "Get more help," "IRC" node of the documentation has a paragraph reading:

"While IRC being a real-time discussion, people tend to not reply immediately, so be patient."

This wording is slightly unnatural. Changing "While" to "With" seems more readable:

"With IRC being a real-time discussion, people tend to not reply immediately, so be patient."

I think it should rather be "While IRC is a real-time discussion medium, people tend to not reply immediately, so be patient."

This is supposed to show that despite the real time nature of IRC, one won’t always get an instantaneous response.

That works too. Or:

"Since IRC is a real-time discussion medium, people tend to not reply immediately, so be patient."

Both of your suggestions have a contradiction. They both state that IRC is real time and that there are delays *as a consequence*. The goal of the original sentence was precisely to warn that *even though* it is real time, one should expect delays.

Right. Good point. What you suggested works and is an improvement over the current wording. So going with your suggestion makes sense:

"While IRC is a real-time discussion medium, people tend to not reply immediately, so be patient."
