Upon initial system loading:

Application "panel" (process 1242) has crashed due to a fatal error (segmentation fault)

Desktop never loads properly.  After clearing the error, the desktop appears, but almost no shortcuts are there.  No toolbar.  Must right click to open terminal for shutdown.


>How-To-Repeat:
Boot, log in (graphically) as root, error occurs upon initial load of the desktop.  Happens every time.
