critical

iN GNOME-SHELL VERSION
3.16-3.22
WEATHER DATA NOT AVAILABLE FOR MINSK/BELARUS.
PLEASE FIX IT (THE POSSIBLE NORWEGIAN METEOROLOGICAL INSTITUTE DOES NOT PROVIDE WEATHER DATA FOR BELARUS. EARLY ALL WORKS, BUT LITERALLY LAST YEAR DOES NOT WORK. THOUGHT THIS IS THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE ALREADY BEEN USED BY OLD SUPPORT 3.18, THOUGHTS API CHANGED. BUT FOR RUSSIA ALL WORKS.)

Confirming on gnome-weather-3.20.2-1.fc25.noarch
Comment 2 Andrey 2017-03-12 18:06:05 UTC
My system is gentoo.
Available version:
3.18.1, ~(3.20.1), 3.20.2
I get source code from ftp://ftp.swin.edu.au/gentoo/distfiles/gnome-weather-3.20.2.tar.xz
From other places, I do not get the source code yet. Accordingly, this wild version of gnome-weather-3.20.2-1.fc25.noarch I do not know how to get since it is not available in the LFS repository (Linux from stratch or Gentoo Linux).
Please send me source code or create release for downloads.

The bug does not seem to be place specific. I reported a similar bug to Launchpad on July 3rd, and I was told by user Sebastien Bacher on July 26th to report it upstream. Here is the link to Launchpad with all the necessary logs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-weather/+bug/1695651

I am running a fresh install of Ubuntu Gnome 17.04 Zesty Zapus.

I hope the Launchpad report does suffice, and that the bug will be taken seriously. It's been classified "Critical" at Launchpad, and the Ubuntu GNOME/Ubuntu merger will take place the next year, so let's get everything fixed by then ;-)

I have the same problem, but for my city (Samsun - Turkey).

Gnome-weather didn't show forecast for Samsun city and said: "the weather information is currently unavailable"..but there is no problem if I choose any other Turkey city!

I test the problem with (opensuse TW - gnome 3.26), and (fedora 26 - gnome 3.24)

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-weather/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
