Description freddy 2017-03-09 09:29:39 UTC
When opening some PDF files, the Evince window sometimes span several monitors. I have a dual monitor setup (primary 2560x1440+0+0, secondary 1920x1080+2560+0) and when opening a PDF, the Evince window is taller than a single monitor. It only seems to happen for newly opened PDF files. If I resize the window, close the file, and open it again, Evince remembers its last size and position.

I noticed for Ubuntu a bug was already filed: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1594424

I am using Fedora 25 (fully updated) myself.

This happens all the time for me with dual monitors, it is very annoying.

In addition to Evince opening a bizarrely sized window spanning monitors it sometimes will open a window contained in just one monitor but it's the secondary monitor, not the primary monitor.

Basically everytime I open Evince I have to resize the window to fit on one monitor and/or move it to the primary monitor.

I wonder if this happens only when the screen sizes are different.
Comment 3 José Aliste 2018-03-01 20:24:54 UTC
It happens to me sometimes , with equal screensizes...

I am using the version 3.28 and it happens to me sometimes. I don't known if it related but when using dual monitor setup evince sometimes causes a crash in gnome-shell.
