GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 779739
Don't show popup warning when gnome-shell isn't running
Last modified: 2017-03-08 19:13:50 UTC
Created attachment 347440 [details] screenshot Ubuntu 17.04 Beta I logged into Unity and got a popup when I opened my web browser: GNOME Shell Integration Failed to check extension updates: File closed Retry Close Cancel Ok This is bad because I'm trying to install chrome-gnome-shell by default on every Ubuntu GNOME install but some people use GNOME and other desktops. If gnome-shell isn't running, I don't want to see a popup about GNOME Shell. Screenshot attached.
This is should be fixed in version 8.2. See: https://github.com/nE0sIghT/chrome-gnome-shell-mirror/issues/35
Oops, I left the version number out of my bug report: I am running chrome-gnome-shell 8.2 on Ubuntu 17.04.
This is fixed in git master branch: https://git.gnome.org/browse/chrome-gnome-shell/commit/?id=61315cbb9948f29ccdd236a8387d57a4fadd25a8
Yes, this works better. I don't see error popups now. Thanks!
