Description venkat 2002-04-07 20:39:06 UTC
Version - 1.0
Code is taken on 25th march.

1) Start window list applet.

2) Start Yelp two times(Bot should not have any parent-child
    relationship).

3) As a result there are two tabs in the panel, one for each yelp window
    opened in the current workspace.

4) Right click on the applet and select the option properties.

5) Enable the radio button 'Always group windows'.

6) As a result of executing the step 5, the two yelp windows
running in the current workspace grouped under one tab
    in the panel.

7) I think both yelp windows should not be grouped together
under one tab in the panel since they don't have any
    parent-child relationships.

8) The grouping never happened for applications like eog , terminal
unless they have parent -child relationships.
    .Only Yelp is an exception.

This is... weird. I guess I was confused- I thought it /always/
grouped on name, but it doesn't. That's odd. I'd argue, personally,
that this is a reversed argument- that it is broken for terminals and
not yelp, since (1) I'm pretty sure it used to always group on names
and (2) having zillions of terminals lined up along the bottom of the
screen makes the list hard to use, which is the whole /point/ of
grouping. Either way not a /huge/ bug.

Luis, the behaviour is not constant, even if we assume that it will
group all the windows with the same name(for example in ghex, it is
not happening. I started two separate instances. Still it is not
grouping all the windows). Also for yelp, it is now grouping all the
yelp windows into one tab eventhough they are started separately.
code taken on 5th may. version of windowlist - 1.0. I think window
list should not behave differently for different applications. I
think grouping under name makes more sense.
