.policy, .metainfo and parts of .appdata (<developer_name> tag) files are no longer extracted for translation, for example in the gnome-software module. It happens probably since the migration last week.

Piotr, do you remember the gettext version needed for that functionality.

gettext 0.19.7 is installed on the server.

It was added in 0.19.8: http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gettext.git/tree/NEWS

(0.19.8.1 is a brown-paper-bag release over 0.19.8.)
