After it crashes, restarting the panel reports no problems and functions normally. Subsequent starting of GNOME will also perform normally, until the computer is rebooted again. Its been said that if you upgrade both gnome-core and gnome-libs to the latest version these problems disappear. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 77540 ***
