Description C.M.Rogers 2017-01-15 22:07:37 UTC
Hitting any letter on the keyboard opens up the search box (lower right corner of screen) but no longer puts the character typed into the box, forcing the user to type it again to skip to the desired filename.

This is a major bottleneck in keyboard navigation.

System: Ubuntu 16.10
GNOME Shell 3.22.2
GNOME nautilus 3.22.2

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any directory with nautilus
2. Type any letter or number key

Result: letter typed is not included in the search/skip-to box which pops up in the lower-right corner (subsequent letters are).

We don't have that in Nautilus. Looks like the type ahead of Ubuntu. So closed as NOTGNOME
