GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 776841
Color device stops working during calibration, preventing it to finish
Last modified: 2020-11-12 15:09:15 UTC
HOW TO REPRODUCE: - Do a calibration using the precise profile (haven't tried with the other ones). RESULT: - After a while the calibration process hangs with the message "sample read failed due to communication problem. Hit Esc or Q to give up, any other key to retry. - Retying always fails, and the calibration can never complete. - Screenshot: (https://goo.gl/Wisrd7) RELEVANT DETAILS: - It doesn't happen using the application "dispcalgui", which also uses argyllcms as back-end. - The used device was a Pantone Huey Pro. - Bugs in this application are recurrent. Requires fixing the root cause, not the symptoms: (https://goo.gl/dxihAJ) SYSTEM SPECS: ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: gnome-color-manager 3.18.0-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-57.78-generic 4.4.35 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-57-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.4 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Wed Jan 4 00:24:10 2017 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-01-25 (1439 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Release amd64 (20121017.5) SourcePackage: gnome-color-manager UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to xenial on 2016-08-05 (151 days ago)
