GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 776450
Improve print layout
Last modified: 2017-12-06 16:58:59 UTC
There are many things that can be improved here: - Use columns for units (need to measure first!) - Better fonts - Include multiple pictures - Page numbers
A few more improvements: * Some infos, which are shown in the application are missing in the print version or have different names (since I'm a German user I try to translate as good as I can): - The category (Cake, Snacks, Pizza, etc.) is missing in the print edition. - The applications says "preparation time", the printing edition just says "preparation", also "cooking time" and "cooking" - The application show symbols of a cow or corn (contains milk product, gluten). Those icons are missing in the printing edition. - The printing shows only 1 picture. It could at least show 1 or 2 more smaller ones, if the user added more than one picture. * Avoid Widows and Orphans, if possible: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Widows_and_orphans
Using symbolic icon (in application and printing edition) for fields like "author", "preparation time", "portions", etc. would make the recipe look nicer. See the linked image for what I mean and ideas: https://i.stack.imgur.com/pzilN.png
If you have an ingredient, which has nothing in the quantity field, it has a small indentation in the printing edition. It's not aligned with the other ingredients.
I've fixed the layout of the ingredients list to align the ingredients.
