I have found that after switching from Xorg to Wayland on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 with GNOME 3.22 that when I for instance will go to the Filters menu and go down to Artistic and then when I move my mouse to where its pull-down menu is, I find that suddenly it jumps to the File menu being open, or another one. This is not always the case, but it happens a lot, so much that it disrupts my work. This happens with quite a few of the pull-down menus, though mostly with the longer ones.

I originally reported this issue here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/1652299 But thought I should also do so upstream.

Hello,

Thanks for reporting.
Do you have any other GTK+2 program and do they have the same problem? I don't think we do anything special and our menus are handled by GTK+. So this may be a GTK+ bug.

Sorry, I don't know for this issue any more because I switched from Ubuntu to Arch and no longer experience the issue. It is probably due to the way in which they setup Wayland or something because it's only experimentally done on their end and this didn't happen with Xorg. But I do seem to remember a lot of issues with GIMP in terms of these menus, but not much with other applications regarding this. As I reported this under GIMP at the time I assume that this was the only application I experienced it in, but I don't know if I was using any other GTK+2 applications.

Sorry not to be able to be much more helpful, my Ubuntu VM is currently not functional. But maybe if I get it up and running in the future I can let you know more about this issue if I can reproduce it in there.
