Description Ricardo Fernandes 2016-12-21 14:32:12 UTC
Every time a new guest OS is installed everything works fine during install and it is possible to use the guest OS normally. However, the newly created box disappears from disk if the source ISO is deleted, which should not happen since the box is already installed. Confirmed with Windows- and Linux-based guest operating systems and Archlinux as the host. This problem started after a fresh install of Gnome 3.22.

Problem confirmed by several users here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=220182.

I just encountered this bug twice, both times with an unlicensed 32-bit Windows 10 installation from Microsoft's official downloads. The first time, my VM disappeared after deleting the ISO file from my Downloads folder, with Boxes 3.22.4 on Fedora 25. The second time, with whichever version of Boxes is newest in Linux Mint 18.3's repositories, my VM disappeared after I removed the USB drive the installer was running from (a single partition formatted as ext4 and mounted as mass storage), but well after I had logged in to the Windows desktop environment and started configuring things within the VM. I was able to exit (or suspend) the VM without issue even after the ISO had been removed as long as the main Boxes window remained open; my VM only disappeared on application restart.
