GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 776247
Tools / PriceEditor / GetQuotes thinks Currency XXX is an actual currency and tries to retrieve prices for it
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:52:42 UTC
see lid on tin Don't think it has always been this way and it isn't a big deal if you know what to expect. Fix: Currency / commodity XXX can't have a price and no attempt should be made to retrieve anything about it as it is entirely local. I've marked the severity as Minor as I don't think many people are actively using this rather fascinating bit of GnuCash.
message received is === Unable to retrieve quotes for these items: CURRENCY:XXX Continue using only the good quotes? yes / no === which confuses the innocent and frustrates the experienced, aka the worst of both (small) worlds :)
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Once that release is available, you may want to check for a software upgrade provided by your Linux distribution.
Shouldn't we do this for XTS (Test), too?
I think not, one may wannt to test wrt an outside source. It also allows the flexibilty of XXX internal XTS external It seems to me we'd be reducing choice by making XXX == XTS But I didn't vote for Brexit :)
