Description Sebastian Dröge (slomo) 2016-12-17 18:22:20 UTC
I'd propose to remove this plugin, at least from cerbero. There is no upstream anymore (literally: the only places for download you can find are distro mirrors!), nobody works on it since ages and I'm sure it's full of security relevant bugs.

See also https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=845037 and the crash bugs here https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?repeatmerged=no&src=schroedinger .

ffmpeg also has a decoder (but only for VC2 AFAIK), if anybody really needs it.

Shall we also purge it from -bad then or do we want to keep it around?
Comment 6 Sebastian Dröge (slomo) 2018-02-05 08:01:02 UTC
Yes, remove it.

    Remove schroedinger plugin

No upstream (website disappeared), no maintainer, and
pretty much a fringe format anyway.
