GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 775312
Clipboard contents are not available when exited
Last modified: 2018-01-02 17:52:09 UTC
When some text is copied to the clipboard and the user exits the program before pasting it somewhere and tries to paste it after exiting the contents are not available for pasting. A similar bug was filed for another component. I guess it could be used as a reference https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=622049 . Steps to reproduce: 1. Open any note 2. Copy some text 3. Close the application 4. Try to paste the text somewhere Expected results: The contents are available for pasting Actual results: Contents are not available for pasting
I was not able to replicate the issue running code in master. I'll close it if you still have this issue, please re-open this bug. Thx.
As I'm not sure how to test the code your master, I tested this again using 3.20.2 (note that it's a minor version less than the one I reported) on a Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) with GNOME Wayland as the environment. I could still reproduce the issue. The key is that this issue is specific to Wayland and doesn't happen in the default desktop environment (GNOME). I'm not sure whether the version on master was tested on Wayland. So, I'm unsure of whether the bug is fixed.
(In reply to Kaartic from comment #2) > Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) with GNOME Wayland as the environment. I could Yep, the issue only happens in Wayland, not X11. I've reported it upstream [0]. Please subscribe and follow up there. Thx. [0] https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135210#c1
