Description Nate Graham 2016-11-29 03:19:50 UTC
This is a duplicate of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=680118

I wish to register my dissatisfaction with the current design, which is surprising, confusing, and not what any other file manager does. GNOME already has a filesystem search built into Dash and a magnifying glass search button on Nautilus's toolbar that can easily accomodate this functionality, so I'm not sure why overloading the standard file selection type-ahead behavior is still necessary. Given tracker and how well GNOME's full text search works from the dash, it may be time to revisit this.
