GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 774974
shells fails to show icon for LibreOffice when using Wayland
Last modified: 2021-07-05 14:30:02 UTC
When using the Wayland session (but not with old X), the LibreOffice application icons are mission from gnome-shell (from the topbar, switcher, overview, etc). It's replaced by the generic one I assume it's because it fails to find the desktop file, as it also calls it "soffice". The same versions work fine in non-Wayland mode (using the "GNOME on Xorg" session). Using: gnome-shell-3.22.1-2.fc25.x86_64

why duplicate? libreoffice is gtk3, not qt5.
OK, reopened. There are so many of these 'app icons do not always show in Wayland' that it's hard to tell them apart. I wonder if they aren't ultimately dupes of this: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=768531 but sure, let's have another, just in case. I presume you CCd to this because you can confirm it still occurs on current GTK+/GNOME Shell versions?
(In reply to Daniel Boles from comment #3)> > I presume you CCd to this because you can confirm it still occurs on current > GTK+/GNOME Shell versions? Since update to libreoffice 5.4 this bug is solved on my system. I'm testing Gnome 3.26 beta on Antergos (Arch-based).
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
