TIFF file where width is 50000 pixels or more crash when printing, error at export

Trying to print a tiff results in no error message other than "Gimp has stopped responding" from windows; force-closing is the only way to exit. Trying to export the tiff results in "GIMP message saving 'filename' failed: Cannot handle the size (either width or height) of the image. [OK] > Next, describe step-by-step how to reproduce the bug. The program may respond again if you wait. Do you want to end the process? [End Process] [Cancel] Waiting (as long as 2 hours anyway) does not achieve anything. [Cancel] makes the dialog box go away, but nothing else happens (GIMP remains completely unresponsive.) the files; the tiff files are from automotive, aerospace, and military sources, and I am not able to use gimp to edit out any branding in the title blocks. And since I have an nda with every source, I cannot share the files without at least removing the cage code, customer branding, etc.
The error message on export is rather specific - so what is the width and height of those images in pixels?

"Any TIFF file" and "TIFF file where width is 50000 pixels or more" could make a difference. Can you reproduce this for smaller files as well?
If I use a random jpg picture (1344 x 821) and export it as a tif, then I am able to open *that* tif and export it and print it.
edit Updated bug file to include "where the width is 50000 pixels or more." I did not realize that was a known issue; the drawings ("blueprints") are all at least that width; I've never tried using tif files for any other reason. Should I change or delete this bug?
I do not know if this is a known issue. The "50000 pixels or more" was merely deduced from the sizes you provided.
