GNOME Shell with glitched out coloring

Formal specs and version info:

- Machine/Device: PowerMac G5 Quad (Late 2005)
- NVIDIA GeForce 6600LE - nouveau DDX and LLVMpipe
- PowerPC64, big endian
- GNOME 3.22.1

Running GNOME shell on a PowerMac G5 with GeForce 6600LE is now proven to be problematic, after my experience with KDE (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372202).

While GNOME itself runs well along with all its applications, the GNOME Shell seemed to have some idea of its own on how to color the interface on my machine.

(Screenshot of the issue is attached below)

I am suspecting that Clutter might have something to do with this issue, as all GTK+ 2/3 applications worked just fine.

Also, in suspicion that nouveau might have had something to do with this issue, I have also filed an issue to their developers: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98630.
Comment 1 GNOME Infrastructure Team 2021-07-05 14:27:27 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
