Box and column plot displaying the issue

I have this problem with an old (1.10) version of Gnumeric but I think it is still present in 1.12.

When I add a legend to a box plot, the different colors are shown as a horizontal line with the bottom half colored, rather than a square with the inside colored (as the one in column plots or pie charts).

Additionally, the line in the legend appears with a marker on it, as if it were a line plot with markers; nevertheless, when I close and open the .gnumeric file, the marker disappears. (This might be another bug.)

So far I'm using the following workaround: hide all plots from the legend, and add a "dummy" column plot to the diagram with as many series as the original one, all of them with the same names and styles as the box plot but with no data, so that they are listed in the legend but not displayed on the chart.

This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Once that release is available, you may want to check for a software upgrade provided by your Linux distribution.
