GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 773819
Trash of external drives is not shown
Last modified: 2016-11-03 09:08:08 UTC
I am experiencing this bug on Ubuntu 16.10 and it refers to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1633824 Unfortunately when deleting something to trash on an external drive, the trash icon still shows an empty trash and the files do not appear in the trash folder of nautilus, although they are inside .Trash-1000 directory of the drive. Sometimes I am able to make nautilus work normal again by logging out and in again.
Can't this be duplicate of Bug 662946? What is your glib version?
How do I find out the version? It is probably the default version of Ubuntu 16.10
See: http://askubuntu.com/questions/340530/how-can-i-check-the-available-version-of-a-package-in-the-repositories Hmm, it looks like Ubuntu 16.10 uses GLib 2.50.0, but the bug was fixed in 2.50.1... https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0 Try to convince the Ubuntu maintainers to update GLib... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 662946 ***
Thanks for the hint. Did not know the package name, but you are right with the version: apt-cache policy libglib2.0-0 libglib2.0-0: Installiert: 2.50.0-1 Installationskandidat: 2.50.0-1 Versionstabelle: *** 2.50.0-1 500 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu yakkety/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
