Description Pablo Estigarribia 2016-10-23 15:30:37 UTC
I have changed the password of my exchange account due to expired password in another computer, but forgot to change it in online accounts.

When I openned online accounts it showed that login is not working and need to login again, but never noticed it in desktop notification.

I think is good for normal users to be notified in normal gnome notifications about the need to login with fresh password to that account.

The decision to not use a desktop notification is deliberate. See bug 660882.

In this case (ie. an Exchange account) I suspect the relevant application is evolution, gnome-calendar, etc.. Those applications should handle the error (ie. GOA_ERROR_NOT_AUTHORIZED) and present it to the user. I suggest filing bugs against them.

Thanks for the answer, I haven't found that bug when reporting this. I have marked as duplicated.

The proposed solution in bug #660882 sounds good too.
