Description Johannes Rohr 2016-10-08 08:21:01 UTC
Most of my music is outside of my home directory, which I have configured tracker to index. The tracker search GUI returns search results from that directory, yet gnome-music shows only the music contained in my home directory, which no option available to search in additional paths.

This is by design, music only tracks ~/Music currently. See also #766676 .

Well, if I deliberately add a path to tracker, I can be assumed to know what I am doing. If gnome-music silently ignores my deliberate decision, my experience as a user is that the programme is broken.

There is no need to fix this for me, as I keep using Rhythmbox anyway, but I would be glad if you would take note of the fact that as a user I experience this as a bug and I am unlikely to use this application in the future.
