gedit insert date time (image)

An empty item is present in Menu-> Tools -> 'Insert Date and Time' list.
Selecting this empty item and clicking insert does nothing though.

GDateTime does not support %D, this is fallout from commit:

GDateTime is now used which always supports this format string.

This problem has been fixed in the unstable development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain that newer version.
