GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 770505
Wifi Stopped working after upgrading to 1.4.x
Last modified: 2016-08-29 17:37:23 UTC
Arch linux, package networkmanager-1.4.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz. Downgrading to 1.2.5 fixed the issue. Networks were displayed, but when I would try to connect, it would report "Connection failed" (or something along those lines). On start up, Gnome Shell would report "Connection failed/Activation of network connection failed." I tried various forms of restarting netctl, dhcpcd, and network manager, but none worked.
Thanks for taking the time to report this. Could you please provide some debug information so it becomes easier for developers to find out what the problem? Please see https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/NetworkManager/Debugging for more information. When providing that information, please reset the status of this bug report from NEEDINFO to its previous status.
basically: - enable debug logging, by editing NetworkManager.conf (see https://cgit.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/plain/contrib/fedora/rpm/NetworkManager.conf?id=c90ec2d8c8a12b44c908bf7f80b23059c29f68fa ) - reproduce problem - attach `journalctl -u NetworkManager > nm-logfile.ext` thanks
