Description Georges Basile Stavracas Neto 2016-08-11 23:17:29 UTC
The current sidelist shadow appears as a light
shadow over a light gray background. This breaks
the impression of depth that this shadow was designed
for, and makes it look strange on the dark variant
of Adwaita.

Fix that by setting the color to translucid black.

Well spotted. I was actually already contemplating discussing with the designers if this shadow actually is something we want. I can't see it anywhere else in gnome, it should probably be restyled as a whole.

These shadows are present on the mockups [1].

It is, but still it's nowhere else in gnome.

Anyway the patch still makes sense as it is now. This problem has been fixed in the unstable development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain that newer version.
