Gnome maps slow loading

The gnome-maps application is really cute, simple and clear. But, unfortunately very very slow. It takes ~45 seconds for a simple frame to load ( Refer attachment ). This frame was mostly sea area too. Still it was slow. If it gets faster, gnome-maps would be a great application.

I have a 8 Mbps internet and a fast Mac Mini with 8GB RAM. So, no local machine issues.

Gnome maps version: 3.20.2
OS: Debian latest unstable x64
GNOME Shell: 3.20.3

Yeah, and I'm working on a solution for this right now.

Btw I love that you called Maps cute. Made me smile. :)

All the best,
