GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 768210
gucharmap-9.0.0 works only with Unihan.zip file
Last modified: 2021-06-02 09:34:57 UTC
That is a problem because it forces our distribution to duplicate the files installed by our unicode-data package: we currently install the .txt files, but this needs also the .zip file without unpacking :/ Could this be changed to also allow to build with the plain .text files? Thanks
Sure, I'll accept a patch that makes it work for both cases.
Debian people is applying this one downstream to achieve the same as we want in Gentoo: https://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-gnome/desktop/unstable/gucharmap/debian/patches/unicode-source-generation.patch?revision=49167&view=markup
But, yeah, they adapt it to bz2... not allow a general way :/ Then, maybe for now we would opt for applying a similar one downstream :|
Anyway, why gucharmap asks for Unihan zip even when --disable-unihan is passed as configure option?
Because that option isn't supported anymore. Thanks for reminding me it still existed; I've removed it now.
Should be really easy to do for someone with perl foo.
