Whenever I use nmcli it always asks for password twice, the arguments I use are

nmcli -a con up id <SSID>

Can you please attach trace logs for NM? To increase logging level, set 'level=TRACE' in the [logging] section of /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and restart the service. Then attach the output of 'journalctl -u NetworkManager -b' after trying to connect. Which NM version?

1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.2, sorry for the delay. I think it completely stopped asking the password twice on my main installation after deleting and creating the connection again.

I suppose it works fine now. Should you experience the issue again, feel free to reopen and provide up-to-date logs.
